Portraits by NGB: A Popovici Christmas

What can I say? A gorgeous family, a beautiful call on their lives....A true heart to serve....that's who the Popovicis are.  It was an absolute honor to capture them for the Holidays before they head to their ministry out in Iraq.  If you wish to support their ministry, please do not hesitate to drop me a line, I'd love to connect you with them.

Dave was my professor this Fall at the Fire School of Ministry-Chicago and I was simply touched by his ability to explain what my true identity in Christ means and looks like.  His adorable wife, Danielle, is a true example of a Proverbs 31 woman and what that looks like...she's also a great teacher!  Such a sincere family!  What a blessing!!!

A very laid back gang, you can truly feel the love this family has.  Both for each other, and me....but also the love that Adai showed for Photography.  He is such a ham.  And Baby Elias was simply a gem full of giggles.  Not to mention Yaya and Israel (the two older ones....) and their care for their younger siblings.  Simply priceless!  I truly hope that you enjoy this Snapshot of their session! :)

Portraits by NGB: A Rodriguez Christmas

It was absolutely hilarious how Frankie and I had planned to do an elaborate portrait session outside with his beautiful wife Janelle and daughter Jubilee....when all of a sudden, as is typical in Chicago, the wind increased and droplets of rain (20% chance of rain....of course, it would, lol) which caused us to go to plan B.....A cozy indoors session in my home studio.  Well, it was an absolute blast!!!  And since the baby Jubes had been in our home before, she was VERY comfortable which made for a session of story-telling ( in a Baby Jubilee's own language which I took pleasure in personally translating with glee, might I add) and lots of precious moments.  Since Janelle is also pregnant with Baby #2: Aasha Reigns Rodriguez....we had to throw in some belly shots, of course.  So without further delay, I present to you a cozy session with the Rodriguez family. Enjoy! :)

Portraits by NGB: Baby Jacob

To say that I was blown away by a double session this weekend would be an understatement.  I started with adorable Baby Jacob who after being fed was one of the happiest babies ever.  His baby blue eyes just pierced through my heart and I fell in complete love with this little 3 month-old baby boy.  I truly hope you enjoy. By the way, what makes this even more special is that Baby Jacob is technically Baby Abigail's uncle since Abigail's grandparents are parents to Baby Jacob.....Talk about cool, right?!? :)

Portraits by NGB: Baby Abigail

Then I met Baby Abigail, and my heart went into overdrive.  Truly a treat to have two precious babies all in one day.  So I have to share her precious smile with you.  She even had a moment with Chewy....the cutest oversized puppy ever.  Chewy was soooo gentle with the baby, it was incredible.  Here's to new experiences and great memories captured.  Enjoy!

Portraits by NGB: Baby Naomi & her family

Today was a gorgeous day here in Chicagoland.  I couldn't have asked for a better day to capture Naomi and her family.  Naomi was a very laid back baby, she was mostly observant, which was amazing for her being only 9 & 1/2 months old.  She only smiled for her pop-pop which was absolutely adorable.  Somehow, he had the magic touch.  I met Naomi's mom Carolina after she was referred to NGB by a close friend.  This was an incredible family....they all took time out to come to the Session after the ceremony so they could take pictures with Naomi.  How about it!?! It was a special treat to capture some of the art painted on the church wall before the Baptism started.  I hope you enjoy this Snapshot.

Headshots by NGB: Lovely Lourdes

I started my day very early today with meeting a bride-to-be at 5:15am, that's right, 5:15am (there are no limits with NGB, truly)....in the back of my mind, I knew that I had a special session today in the early part of the evening.  Yes, folks, it was a headshot session.  I met Lourdes in March while capturing Jose and Ana's wedding (remember them? The wedding at Venuti's).  Lourdes was the maid of honor at that wedding.  Her beauty stood out then, and sure enough after getting to know a little bit more, I found out that she has a passion for acting.  So you can imagine that two weeks ago when she reached out to me, it was a session that I absolutely couldn't miss.  We met at the Millenium Park and took advantage of the perfect golden sun.  It was gorgeous out today too, so definitely a treat to be out there shooting these headshots.  I truly hope that you enjoy this sneak peek.  It was very interesting to capture so many sides of her.

Portraits by NGB: Chloe's 18-month Session

It was such a treat to capture Chloe's 18-month session. If you can remember, about a year ago, I had the honor of doing Chloe's 6-month session (she happened to be my first baby girl session ever.....as I had always had baby boy sessions, ironically). Back then, the highlight of her session was the segment when she was in a cooking pot, remember how cute she was? She is all grown up, and she still has the most piercing blue eyes. At almost 18-months, Chloe can communicate and listen sooo well. She has a full personality and it's interesting to see that her demeanor has not changed. She is still just sooo calm and sweet. So without further delay, here are some highlights of her session. This time, we had a blast with hats, pearls, decks, and cake...oh my! Enjoy!

Portraits by NGB: Enza, Melissa & Alex

This morning, I woke up at 5:15am and just had a good feeling about the session I was to have with Enza and her beautiful children....But I had no idea what a blessing it would be to meet those two. From start to finish, they had me laughing and let me tell you, Alex is a true Comedian. I told his mother that she better watch out because he is made for the stage. And then there was gorgeous Melissa. A singer by passion, she truly made the camera happy, happy, happy. Now their mother Enza is a firecracker and let me tell you, her HOT heels were so fun to capture. I simply enjoyed a session where everyone was ready for photos whether they were in the mood or not, you will see for yourself that they did a wonderful job in front of the camera. So without any further delay, let me introduce you to Enza, Melissa, and Alex. Enjoy!

Portraits by NGB: Baby Ellie is 1!

So it's official. Just when I think I have met the cutest baby in the world, I get the priviledge of meeting yet another one. Ellie was simply put, a precious little girl. She is half-Nigerian and half-Korean which is a beautiful and unique mix as you can see from her adorable face. Turning one is very BIG in her mother's Korean culture and I tell you, the tradition that I was introduced to called "Doljabi" was definitely entertaining. A fun game that is played on a baby's first birthday to determine her future. How it's played: 6 items are put in front of a child, and depending on which one the child picks, this will be her future career. The 6 items in Ellie's case were: a stethoscope (if picked, she'll be a doctor), a $20 bill (if picked, she'll be wealthy), a microphone (if picked, she'll be a singer), a pencil (if picked, she'll be a scolar), yarn (if picked, she'll be a designer), and last but not least, a ball (if picked, she'll be an athlete). Well, our dear Ellie picked two items simultaneously which just happened to be the microphone (as you'll see, in her sneak peek, she loves the microphone), and the $20 bill. It was great fun. And so without any further suspense, I would like to introduce you to Baby Ellie.
